Sport and physical activity are an important part of life at Kalkie State School, helping students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and respect. Our sporting program complements the Health and Physical Education curriculum and provides students with opportunities to participate, compete and enjoy physical activity in a supportive environment.
Team Participation and School Clubs
Students can take part in a range of organised team sports, including:
Kalkie Eels Rugby League team – Giving students a chance to play, compete and represent the school.
Kalkie Krushers Netball Team – Offering opportunities for teamwork, skill development and friendly competition.
These teams are supported by teachers and community volunteers, encouraging students to try new sports and represent Kalkie State School with pride.
Carnivals and Competitive Events
Our students participate in annual events such as:
School Athletics Carnival – Track and field events celebrating effort, participation and sportsmanship.
House and Team Competitions – Fostering friendly rivalry, school spirit and collaboration.

Sport at Kalkie complements the HPE curriculum, helping students develop fitness, coordination, leadership and a lifelong appreciation for health and activity.
